RROC Can-Am Prairie Region
Welcome to the Road Trips and Events section of the RROC Can-Am Prairie Region. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the Rolls-Royce Owners Club (49th anniversary of the Can-Am Prairie Region). Plenty of events left on the calendar as we enter the final few weeks of Summer. The event line-up for the Fall months continues to be worked on.
CLUB EVENTS
CAR DISPLAY AT LEDUC WEST
Leduc, Alberta
Saturday, September 12th
A special British Car display, organized by the RROC Can-Am Prairie Region, is set for for Saturday, September 12th at the Leduc West History Park. It is all part of the annual Fall Harvest show which runs September 12th and 13th. Gates open at 8:00am both days. Season champions will be crowned in the Antique Tractor Pull competition which features more than 60 entrants. All museum buildings will be open to the public including the Edmonton Power Historical Museum and the Trucking Museum. Come see Canada's largest collection of privately owned Rolls-Royce and Bentley automobiles inside the Hooper Coachbuilders 'tribute' building which also features over a dozen mechanical musical machines dating back to the 1890's. These musical machines will come to life with hourly performances both days. Leduc West History Park is located 5km west of Leduc on Highway 39 just 1 kilometer north on Range Road 260 (Cohne Dale Road).
DRIVE & DINE
near Cochrane, Alberta
Sunday, September 13th
A special Sunday drive and dine event for Rolls-Royce and Bentley owners about an hour northwest of Calgary on Sunday, September 13th. The Crossing at Ghost River, west of Cochrane, is the destination for an wonderful luncheon meal with riverside setting. We have booked reservations for 10-people at 12 Noon. Please RSVP to Alan Dixon if you'd like to attend. The Crossing is located 10km north of Highway 1A (west of Cochrane) on Trunk Road 40. Watch for signs directing you to a 2km access road to the destination.
FLY-IN / DRIVE-IN BREAKFAST
near Calmar, Alberta
Sunday, September 20th
One of the longest running socials (since 1988) for the RROC Can-Am Prairie Region takes place the final Sunday of Summer. On September 20th, Rolls-Royce and Bentley owners will gather once again in the 'backyard' of Howard Lengerts farmstead for the annual Fly-In-Breakfast/PMC car show. Pilots from all over Alberta will fly their planes and helicopters to the Maplelane Aerodrome southeast of Calmar. There will be special reserved parking for Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Jaguar owners. The airfield opens at 8:00am. The early birds** will get to enjoy the arrival of dozens of airplanes and helicopters. Breakfast (by donation) will be served from 8:15am - 11:45am. This is an RSVP event. Rolls-Royce and Bentley owners along with a special invitation to Jaguar owners and the Canadian Prairies Jaguar Club will be sent out the first week of September. **A Dawn Patrol drive of Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Jaguars will take place early Sunday morning. Owners will gather in the parking lot of the Mobil 1 gas station in Devon, Alberta just after 7:00am then depart about 10 minutes after sunrise (7:16am) for a group drive to the airfield. Arrival time at Howards will be approximately 10-minutes before the first aircraft are due to touch down.
BRITISH CARS & COFFEE
Edmonton, Alberta
Saturday, October 3rd
The first British Cars & Coffee/Tea of Fall takes place Saturday, October 3rd. The Fifendekel Cafe', located at 12028 - 149th Street, opens its doors to owners of British vehicles for an automotive social from 9:00am till 11:30am. It's a perfect Saturday morning out with friends, your spouse or significant other. Breakfast sandwiches, cinnamon buns, pie, coffee and tea are on the menu. This event is organized by the RROC Can-Am Prairie Region as an outreach to other British Car clubs in the Edmonton area.

Events with potential or confirmed participation by Rolls-Royce and Bentley owners will be posted here. Events with a British theme, not held in our region, will also be posted here as a courtesy.
FLY-IN-BREAKFAST/CAR SHOW
County of Parkland, Alberta
Sunday, September 13th
The Parkland Executive Airport, located west of Edmonton on Highway 627, is hosting its first ever Fly-In-Breakfast and Car show. This airport (CYEP) opened in 2013 shortly after the closure of the Edmonton City Center Airport. This airport is home to many private aircraft owners and business owners that are also pilots. This Fly-In-Breakfast is expected to attract pilots from all over Alberta. Come early for the mini airshow. This is an all-makes/all models car show. Several Rolls-Royce and Bentley will be on display at this inaugural event. The car show runs from 8:00am - 1:00pm. Breakfast will be served from 8:00am - 10:00am. A food truck will be coming out for the lunch hour. The airport is very easy to find. Its on Range Road 270 (Sandhills Road), about 3 kilometers North of Highway 627 (Garden Valley Road).
DISTINGUISHED GENTLEMAN'S DRIVE
Calgary, Alberta
Sunday, September 27th
The 6th annual Distinguished Gentleman's Drive takes place worldwide on Sunday, September 27th. This motoring event, for pre-1980 vintage vehicles, is to raise money for men's health and prostate cancer research. Drivers and passengers are encouraged to dress dapper to complement the vehicle. This event is for registered drivers only. The meet up location, route and destination through the Alberta foothills, will be sent out to registered participants. Calgary, Alberta participants have raised just over $115,000 in the previous five Distinguished Gentleman's Drive events.
